Brief History: As Mr. Midnight, James Sprecken was one of the first Mysterymen to appear back in the the 1930's, along with Constable I, Gibson Dent, Premiere, Liberty Rose and other like-minded individuals. He spent most of his career partnered with Constable I, fighting mobsters in New York and the surrounding areas. But, as the 30's were coming to a end, they occasionally joined forces with Gibson Dent and the OSS to fight the growing Nazi threat in America.
During one such case in 1938, Sprecken and Constable I found themselves facing off against a powerful Nazi sorcerer by the name of Kalabus Rex and a mad scientist named Dr. Nucleus. Sprecken and Constable I fought these two to stop their nefarious plans, but not without cost. Constable I was shot and Sprecken was thrown through time, to the year 2025.
Now stuck nearly 100 years into the future (from his point of view), Sprecken has taken up residence in Seattle as a Private Investigator who specializes in the supernatural and bizarre, but he is still quite happy to take down any of the local mobs.
With friends like Lucifer Fawkes, Constable IV, and Dallas McCoy, Sprecken has managed to adjust to this strange new world that faces him, and has become an inspiration to others.
Abilities: Sprecken was once a police officer before going into business for himself as a private investigator back in the 1930's. As such, he was well-trained in various skills of that time, ranging from detection, interrogation, and fighting. He is also well-trained in the proper use of several firearms. Sprecken also trained with several of his comtempory Mysterymen and Adventurers, such as Gibson Dent and Constable I, and has picked up a lot of tricks.

Accouterments:
Sprecken does not wear a normal "costume", as did quite a few
of the Mysterymen of his time. Instead, he usually wears a simple suit and
tie, along with a coat and/or trenchcoat. His "outfit" stems from
a special leather mask, with built-in night-vision goggles. Not exactly
an uncommon item in the present, but night-vision was practically unheard
of back in the 1930's, giving him a huge advantage. Sprecken owns several
of these masks, and it's unknown who orignally made them for him.
Sprecken carries with him a pair of 1938 Colt Model 1911 .45 ACP pistols, which he keeps slung in a shoulder holster, to keep them hidden underneath his trenchcoat and easily accesible. Yet, these are just his preferred weapons. He has been known to use other types of guns, such as shotguns, whenever necessary.
